Demystifying Cloud Computing
It seems
like every ten years that there is a major big thing. In the early 90s it was
client server, then in 2000, of course, the Internet and now it’s clouds. But
what are clouds, what are the issues associated with clouds? Are clouds more or
less secure, and should you care if you outsource to a cloud provider?
Join us as industry thought leader, Dave Asprey, leads a thought provoking discussion on the realities of the cloud. Done properly, the results of Cloud Computing initiatives can be cost savings in the 40% range or more. Flexibility can enable a growing top line, even in a murky economic environment. As with any new service, it also introduces risks. Performance, scale and security and their many dimensions are chief concerns. Security in a virtualized data center becomes a “moving object” in a virtualized world because it explodes the boundaries inside and outside the physical data center.
